The Center for Independent Living (CIL) provides services, support, and advocacy to enhance the rights and abilities of people with disabilities to actively participate in their communities and to live self-determined lives. Programs at CIL include the 4 core services of Independent Living Centers that CIL consumers have identified as important to their increasing independence: Peer Counseling, Systems change, Independent Living Skills training and Information and Referral. Community Resources for Independent Living (CRIL) is a disability resource organization that advocates and provides resources for people with disabilities to improve lives and make communities fully accessible. CRIL offers independent living services at no charge to persons with disabilities living in Alameda County. In order to become a CRIL consumer, an individual must have a disability or functional limitation and be able to benefit from independent living services. CRIL is also a resource for disability awareness education and training, advocacy and technical advice. Please call for information on CIL locations in Hayward and Livermore.
